Train with Josh Altshule Nationally Certified Personal Trainer & State Certified Nutritionist
What Should I look for in a Personal Trainer ?

Certification-
A good Personal trainer should
have a National Certification. Reputable
Certifications Agencies would include ACE
(American Council on Exercise),  NSCA
(National Strength and Conditioning
Association), NASM  (National Academy of
Sports Medicine).

Insurance- Always make your sure your trainer
is covered by Professional Insurance. A real
Professional will be able to provide you
documentation of this.

Full Time Employment- Make sure your trainer
is a full time Personal Trainer. Many part time
trainers enter this business with little or no
education, insurance, commitment. Look for a
trainer that is committed to continuing their
education has all documentation and is
committed to doing this for a living giving you a
better chance of finding somebody who is more
experienced and can handle all situations.

Personality- look for someone who is
compatible with you. You will be spending a lot of
time together and you should enjoy your workout

References- A good Trainer should have plenty
of satisfied clients willing to refer.

Break through plateaus-
Feeling great, looking great but can't figure why you can't
reach the goal that's right in your reach. It's time to mix it
up. The body will adjust and plateau after 6-8 weeks of
the same exercise. A personal trainer can modify your
current workout or give you an entire new one to
challenge your body.

Work Safely- Learn proper form to keep your body safe
and improving. Improper form can cause life long injuries
as well as impede your progress and success. A personal
trainer will make sure to teach you the forms you need to
keep your back and knees pain free.

Workout at home- A Personal Trainer will come to your
home with all the equipment needed so you don't have to
go out to a gym and deal with traffic, sweaty dirty
machines, unavailable equipment, theft, sales associates
nagging you. Etc..
Here it's all about You.

Lose Weight-There is a good reason that the number
one reason people hire personal trainers is to lose weight
and get into shape -- it works. If you made a resolution to
lose the fat and build the muscle, a trainer can keep you
on track and help you realize that goal. Learn how to
make lifestyle choices and stay away from unhealthy fad
diets.

Flexibility- Did you know tight muscles can cause you to
live with chronic pain. Aching lower back you might have
tight ham strings, what about that pulling sensation you
feel in your knee? Check your TFL flexibility this might be
an issue. Will assess you and create a plan. Have your
flexibility assessed before you turn to surgery.
How Can a Personal Trainer Help Me?

Efficiency- Stop wasting time on workouts that don't
work. A Certified Trainer will design a personalized
workout tailored to you and your goals. You don't have
time to waste a Trainer will give you  to maximum
results in the shortest amount of time.

Individualized program- Not everyone is the same.
You may have an  old injury that needs to be cared for
and worked around. Unbalanced workouts can lead to
injuries later in life. Cookie cuter workouts do not have
you mind, their made for the masses. Accomplish
YOUR GOALS not someone else's.

Introduction to Fitness- If you are  beginner a
Personal Trainer will help ease you into a program
teaching you proper form and progression.

Improve technical skills-  If you play a particular
sport, the right personal trainer will help you improve
your skill by showing you new training techniques
specific to your sport. The Trainer will incorporate
skills training into your program so you improve not
only your strength and endurance, but your agility and
mental focus as well

Motivation- Consistency is the key to success. Here's
secret number one. You can't reach your goal if you
don't stick to your plan. Motivation is the number one
reason why people quit working out. That's when all
the excuses roll out. With a trainer you are
accountable for your actions. You know there is
somebody waiting for you who has your best interest
at heart. Walking you through your lifestyle change.
